Aviagen EPI launching GP project in Poland

Aviagen EPI has announced the signing of a contract with poultry firm Avifarm s.c, for a new grandparent (GP) project in Poland. Avifarm s.c. is the Nowak family business created specifically with a view to starting the project.
The agreement will see the construction of state-of-the-art GP facilities, including rearing and laying farms, located near Lisewo, in north-central Poland. Necessary building preparation has already started and the first placement of Ross GP chicks is scheduled for the beginning of 2015.
The contract signing took place in February and was attended by Avifarm owners Stanislaw Nowak, Malgorzata Nowak and Maciej Nowak, as well as Dariusz Kulik, general manager Aviagen EPI Poland, and Leon Vogels, technical director Aviagen EPI.
Kulik said: “This is an exceptional day for both companies. We are proud to be able to announce this partnership with Avifarm s.c., one of the best parent stock farmers in Poland. Aviagen has cooperated with the Nowak family for several years. Based on excellent management, reliability and mutual trust, we are convinced GP production results will be as good as the parent stock ones are at the moment.
“This cooperation agreement is the answer to satisfy the consistently growing demand for Ross Parent Stock in Poland and this new farm will help us provide our customers with first class products and provide real security of supply to the market. As a result of the increasing GPS flocks in Poland and our commitment to maintaining Aviagen standards, in January 2014 Aviagen appointed Jaroslaw Dynarek as technical GP adviser.”
Stanislaw Nowak said: “I am delighted we have been chosen by Aviagen as a partner for this project. Avifarm s.c. sees GPS management as an honor and commendation. Our respect for work, animals and nature is something Aviagen shares. At the same time, being partners with Aviagen allows us to continue to increase our quality standards and development.”
Vogels added: “I am delighted the agreement has been signed with Avifarm s.c. After a few meetings with the Nowak family, I am completely certain all Aviagen standards in respect of GPS management will be accomplished. I am referring to flock isolation, management skills, technical equipment and, above all, sense of responsibility.”
